‘Great Place to Work’ top 50 tech firm award in Brazil

by: | Oct 30, 2019

I’m not usually one to brag, but in this case, I’m going to make an exception. Every day we work hard to build lovable apps for our clients. But long before we can build great apps, we need to build a great place to work that attracts the most talented people.

We’re a great place to work… and we have the proof

ArcTouch Brasil Great Place to Work BadgeRecently, our Florianópolis office was named a Great Place to Work (GPTW), and one of the top 50 technology companies in Brazil. It’s the second time in the past four years we received this honor. And as our office has more than tripled in size (from 55 employees to 180) since our first GPTW award in 2016, that’s no small feat. The award is based on direct feedback from employees, via a survey and a “culture audit” of our workplace. The GPTW survey helps us identify what we’ve been doing right and the things we still need to improve. The real goal of this process is to gain honest feedback from our team. To be ranked as a Great Place to Work? That’s an incredible bonus reward.

It takes a village

These kinds of honors don’t just happen because of luck. We have built a small “village” of great people — people that truly care about the needs of their team members, sometimes even above their own needs. And these people define our company culture and values.

A few years ago, we took the time to articulate our company’s six core values. But this process didn’t happen in some executive office; it was a full company effort. Everyone had a voice in the process, and we distilled the results into these common themes (which detail on the ArcTouch Careers page):

  • Passion — We love what we do. We are dreamers, thinkers, and builders.
  • Ownership — We promise results and follow through on our commitments.
  • Fellowship — Our team is stronger than the sum of our individual strengths.
  • Diversity — Innovation does not discriminate, nor do we. We respect and include all people.
  • Excellence — We don’t just complete tasks — we solve problems. We never say “it’s good enough.”
  • Positive attitude — We trust our teammates and are resilient in the face of adversity.

I embrace these values. But more than that, I’m proud that they came directly from our employees. And even as our office has grown rapidly over the past few years, our village has whole-heartedly adopted them.

‘Where Silicon Valley ingenuity meets South American soul’

ArcTouch Brasil celebrates winning the GPTW award

Every workplace is unique. And perks like a billiards table, fully-stocked kitchen — even a slide — can make an office space more enticing. But as hard as we’ve worked to create a great physical environment for our team, the most important ingredient is people. As this recent blog post about our Brazil office culture shows, this team brings South American “soul” to ArcTouch.

And that’s why I’m so proud. I love our team and our people — and coming into the office every day to share a part of my life with them. And I can’t thank them enough for helping us make ArcTouch Brasil a Great Place to Work!
