Introducing the ‘Forever Warranty’ — the new standard for standing behind our work
When we started ArcTouch in 2008, we wanted to build a company that we, ourselves, would want to work with if we were looking to hire an app development company. We’d want a partner that stands behind its work and treats every app like it was their own — even if their name wasn’t on it.
Here we are, 12 years later, and while some things in the world have dramatically changed, our core mission remains the same.
A time to reflect
Recently, my business partner Eric and I have been reminiscing with pride about the many incredible milestones we’ve accomplished since our business began with a brainstorm. And, with this reflection, we’ve been reminded of the things that matter most to us. Family. Work/Life balance. And work that we’re proud of.
To that end, we’ve decided to formalize something we’ve always believed: As people and as a company, we should stand behind our work. Firmly. So we started thinking… How can we take a bigger and bolder approach to ensure our clients feel confident working with ArcTouch?
Introducing: the ArcTouch Forever Warranty
Most app development consulting companies offer some kind of “defect repair period” in their agreements. This limits their liability for any flaws and bugs to a short window of time — and only during that window will they commit to fixing any issues. This period is usually just a few weeks. That short timeframe puts tremendous pressure on clients (and users) to identify any bugs or issues.
While this may be a standard industry practice, we are setting a new standard for the industry with the ArcTouch Forever Warranty. Here’s how it works:
For any active client, we will fix anything we have written for you previously, forever. If we wrote it, we’ll stand behind it. No more time-limited bug or defect repair period.
A few examples:
- A rarely used feature calculates something incorrectly but isn’t noticed until a year later. We’ll fix it for free.
- A screen UI has text that wraps inappropriately after someone enters an extremely long sequence of characters. We’ll fix it for free.
- A new feature added years after the first version of your app reveals a long-standing bug that was never noticed. We’ll fix it for free.
As a developer, there are some things that are out of our control, such as issues introduced from new phones, operating system updates, or changes to back-end services. While we may not be able to provide a warranty in those sort of situations, our team will still identify what needs to be corrected — and schedule a change for your next app’s release.
We don’t want to be like that other developer
As we talk to prospective new clients, we often hear horror stories about other developers who refuse to adequately finish a project — asking a premium for bug fixes that should have been covered. That’s not how we work. And it’s not inline with the vision we had when we started the company. We will always stand behind our work, as we have for 12 years running. It’s just that now we’ve made it formal and something we think you’ll love. Forever.
